We didn't do too badly, really

Passport photos are notorious, aren't they?

My last passport I made the mistake of getting the photo taken while wearing a cream blouse, which resulted in beige background, cream blouse, washed-out pale skin with dark hair, eyebrows and irises the only relieving features. I should have worn brighter lippy. At least back
then you were permitted to smile.

We really haven't done too badly this time, though. Both appear to have colour in our faces and whilst I made certain I wore a coloured shirt this time it doesn't seem to matter so much these days, because you can hardly see any of it.
My Beloved looks like he's up to mischief, though. The chance they'll let him into a foreign country?
... Let's hope they do! Because how much would I like to go without him?
... Approximately None!

They are great passport photos! I have never had one taken, but I tell you, my license photo is atrocious

That's really lovely - you look totally gorgeous in that photo. And Nicholas Cage doesn't look too bad there either...

I love this photo of you! You look like a spy! Don't ask me why - that was just my first thought on seeing the photo. And I agree with Emily-Sue your beloved looks like Nicholas Cage!

I get the spy thing - you look like you should be working for the French Resistance in 1940. Clearly, LDHBE and I watch too much TV.

too much tv? I am confused how is that possible? ;)

LDHBE and Emily Sue are cracking me up!

But I guess I must confess that the hairstyle could have inspiration from the '40s. I love the show "Foyle's War" and at one point thought that some of the hairstyles would suit me, and have experimented with them. So whilst I did not deliberately set out for my passport photo to be retro, there is every possibility that there was indeed some influence from the era.

One problem with the French underground thing. I don't speak-a de lingo.

And my Beloved does seem to get Nick Cage resemblance comments. It's even more likely when he's had a haircut (Which I should have made certain happened before we had passport photos taken).

You're right - you didn't do to badly. Clever things! I don't understand why they don't let you smile - I think you're hard to recognise without your lovely smile.

Just re-read a Plass, the one mentioning their passport photos. Mr and Mrs Psychopath and Gerald Psychopath, accompanied by the Creature from the Blue Lagoon, or something.

But passport photos are a joke really. One could get their photos taken on a Monday, and on Tuesday get a radical hair cut and colour, funky spectacles and Botox. There's no point to the stupid photos, except to keep us humble.

Keep ME humble, that's what I was specifically referring to.

Well that hairstyle is definitely a winner (good Lord I just typed 'hairstile'!) and you look about 19 years old so I'm not sure we can be friends anymore.

Also, I mentioned Nicholas Cage because you mentioned it once before... although he does look like him. Or HE looks like HIM, as the case may be.

It was actually Kate who outed my Beloved with the Nicholas Cage thing.

And about the looking 19 years old thing. Yes, I was impressed. Unfortunately just next to this absurdly youthful looking image they have printed my date of birth. *sigh*

I was surprised that they let Greg and I smile for our passports. When Roda (my sister in law) went to get her passport (She lived in Dubia at the time). She had to wear her hair down, no bangs in her eyes, no make up and no earrings, necklaces, jewelry.

I have watched a lot of "'Allo 'Allo" and you definitely should be sneaking around in a beret and trenchcoat saying in a French accent, "Listen very carefully - I shall say this only once..."

Won't we (Ma and Pa) look old beside these beauties of youth.
