Happy Birthday Kate me Mate!

I decided that I would throw a virtual birthday party for my good mate Kate (aka Givinya). So please drop a message in the comments to wish her a happy birthday, or even slip over to Killing a Fly to visit her.

We have known each other for years now, in fact since 1994 when she came to share a college with me and we realised that we were similarly endowed with nuttyness.

I could share heaps of great stories about her, but I won't because she knows just as many (if not more) about me, and I have to maintain a position of respect in my community (*laugh uproariously now*).

But I did want to wish her a happy birthday, because I've noticed that mums don't always get the recognition of special days that they deserve. So I hope that she gets to:
1. sleep in
2. go for a long swim with no kids
3. doesn't need to cook unless she wants to
4. and that everyone in her family spoils her rotten for one day.

Happy Birthday, Kate.

The chance that I would ever forget such an important date?

Approximately None! (but only approximately)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!! Getting to know you over the past year or two has been a total joy and a huge laugh, always when I've needed it.

Love you. xx

Aww, how sweet of you! Wishing Kate a Happy Birthday!!

But oh!!! You must share some of the stories! Don't tease like that. Lol.

Well, allow me to tell eveyone that when I first met you, Jen, you were watching Star Trek Voyager alone in the college tv room.

Ha ha ha ha!

Um, Happy Birthday to my sister... via a mutual friend's blog...

I would not have been watching Voyager in the college tv room.

Next Generation, perhaps, but I've not seen that many episodes of Voyager!

Who WOULD watch Voyager?? (Oops... are my prejudices showing? I disliked most of the characters intensely.)

THANK YOU ALL for your lovely birthday greetings and the animated discussion about Star Trek Voyager. I lived next door to Jen for 3 years and suppose myself that it would have been Next Gen.

And THANKYOU YOU JEN for your lovely post. I love you heaps!

Well that's sinister. Do you always suspect foul play when you see a comment has been removed by the blog administrator? I do. Probably shouldn't though.

Okay, and update on the birthday:

1. I did sleep in. After changing a few nappies and donating some milk to The Cause I put the wee one back in his cot and turned the TV on for the other two. I got a lovely long sleep-in with the mister. I felt like I was neglecting my offspring the whole time.

2. I did go for a long swim with no kids! Were you stalking me? Mr de E and I went to the pool for some laps before our dinner date while his folks looked after the children.

3. I spent most of the day cooking, and that was because I wanted to! Pizza on the new pizza stone, yum!

4. Everyone DID spoil me rotten - and I recpirocated. Mainly because I didn't want to smack anyone or fight with anyone on my birthday. It would have been a bad look.

Thankyou so much my dear. Four lovely wishes all came true!
