I think it just likes us...

The neighbours have planted a grape vine.

It keeps trying to come over to our side of the fence. We push it back, it comes back over. (Not that we mind it coming over here, it's just that it belongs to them)

So most of the vine ends up on our side.

It must just like us.

Of course, how many bunches of grapes has it produced in this, its first year of growth?

Wait, are these the neighbours with the annoying, yappy dogs? If so, steal their grapes (or the vine, at least). Tell them you'll give it back when they discipline their dogs.

I'm thinking that in future years (fruiting years) surely that would be fine. You're legally allowed to cut their overhanging branches aren't you? And although you're allowed to put the cut branches back over the fence for them to deal with (not that I ever do that), nobody would blame you if grapes happened to fall into your mouth.

Failing that, there are other options. I notice your birthday is coming up. Are you in need of a good pair seccateurs?

Perhaps it's looking for a lady grapevine, and you should plant one for it, so that they can have grape babies.
